Why Relaxation Can Help You Lose Pounds

When you’re trying to lose weight, it’s important to be aware of more than the foodstuff you eat everyday. Your total mental and mental state plays a very large role in your physical well-being, and it can directly affect your ability to get rid of the weight.

There are two reasons explaining why being relaxed can help you lose weight. The first is a chemical reaction that takes place when you’re feeling stressed. Your body keeps making a stress hormone called cortisol, which promotes the storage of fat in the stomach. If stress is a large part of your day to day life, you have probably got an overproduction of cortisol going on, which suggests you will keep putting on more weight round the midsection despite all of your attempts to eat right and shed pounds. The second reason is that feeling stressed or alternatively tense from day to day increases the chance that you are going to eat too much in an attempt to calm your turbulent feelings.

Creating a rather more relaxed approach to life will help you release your excess fat, for a few key reasons:

1) Relaxation inspires physical balance.

When you’re feeling relaxed and laid- back, you’re much more likely to take extra care of your body, which includes eating balanced meals and getting lots of rest.

2) Relaxation eases turbulent emotions.

Believe it or not, even if you are upset about something, just relaxing for a short while can perform miracles for your mood and mind-set. It quietens you down, lifts you up, and makes you far less likely to reach for food as a pacifier.

If you would like to boost your chances for weight loss success, set aside at least a little bit of time to relax everyday. Curl up with a good book, take a short snooze, relax in the hammock in the back garden after dinner. You will be contributing to better physical health, emotional health, and even a smaller belly.

Note: It’s important to get your body, your emotions AND your mind all behind the concept of relaxing. You can’t pretend to chill physically while permitting your intellect to be churning or stressing about something. Do your utmost to truly let go and relax, mentally, physically and emotionally.
