The Best Swimming Pool Games

Did you know that a swimming pool is not only fun to swim and relax in? It is also a terrific place where you can have interactive games with your family and friends! Beach balls, some rope, floaters, people, and creativity are all you need to have fun, fun, fun!

Next time you are having a pool party, why not try the following games and see how much fun everyone will have:

  1. Wet Sweatshirt Relay Race – Provide 2 sweatshirts for 2 teams with a similar number of participants (preferably strong swimmers.) Use the shallow portion or short length of the swimming pool if kids or weak swimmers want to join. Each team will be provided one sweatshirt.~Line up all the members per team.~Inform the first player that he|she must wear the sweatshirt. After the signal is given, the first player shall swim across the pool and back. The sweatshirt will then be passed on to the next player, who in turn will wear the wet sweatshirt and repeat the procedure. Continue the routine until every member of the team has done their part.
  2. Wrestling Team – Teams will be comprised of two players each. Keeping a safe distance from the pool’s ledge, one member will sit atop the shoulder of the other. Both team members positioned atop the shoulder will try to push the other off balance. The successful team is whoever is left standing.
  3. Race That Float – You will need 2 floaters for this game. Build two teams. Instruct the players to divide themselves accordingly at the opposite ends of the swimming pool. A mixture of adults and kids per team is acceptable; however, the kids should be allowed to go first. For instance, a team with 4 members will be instructed that 2 of their members need to stay at the opposite side of the swimming pool. The first member of the team is required to ride the floater and, using bare hands for paddles, will need to get to where team member B is located who in turn paddles back to team member C. The routine will be done over and over again until every member of the team has done their part. The first team that finishes is the winner.
  4. Tug In The Water – You need to supply a good strong rope for this one. The rules are quite straightforward because you only need to have a knowledge of the Tug-of-War rules with a slight difference where the pool becomes the playing ground. You can allow the kids to have their own version at the shallow end of the pool. Just be sure that there is enough space between the team members and the pool’s ledge to avoid accidents.
  5. What Did You Say? – Build two teams with as much members as possible. Tell the team leaders that the word you have written down and are about to show them should not be said out loud nor passed on unless instructed to do so. The team leaders will need to go underwater where they will tell the next person in line what the word is. The word will be continuously passed until the last team member is reached, who will be the one to say the word above water.
  6. Let’s Pause – At least two players are told to take a deep breath and stay underwater at the same time. The last person to come up for air is declared the winner.

Having fun and being careful, like making sure that none of the pool chemicals are easily accessible, can equate to an impressive pool party.

Using pool & spa chemicals to decontaminate and clean public swimming pools is actually a requirement because of the high number of people using it throughout the day.

The afternoon is the time of the day that there are less swimmers (giving you ample pool space) and ample time has passed since the pool chemicals have been added.
