Running and weight lifting are not all there is if you truly want to be fit. If you want to be truly fit you need to make smart decisions in all aspects of your life. As you age, leading a healthy life and being fit will become more important than ever. Think about it for a minute: how often do you think things like &#8220;I need to be healthier&#8221; during each day, week, month and year?</p>

This is a question that I asked myself a few months ago; I was about to start my latest “diet” and “get fit” campaign and was looking into the many ways of going about doing this. Jogging was not in reality something that I wanted to waste my time doing if there was going to be no benefit at the end from it.</p>
<p>I am a person who likes a challenge; in the past I have managed to “<a target="_blank" href="http://www.stammering-stuttering.co.uk">stop stuttering</a>” and achieve fluency after having this form of speech impediment for eighteen years. Learning to overcome a stutter is in fact rather similar to attempting to lose weight; they each take a lot of determination, a positive attitude, and a willingness to work hard. There is also a pot of gold waiting at the end of the rainbow for those who are ultimately successful. I work in a <a target="_blank" href="http://www.puregym.co.uk/Pure-Gym/Belfast">Belfast gym</a> and I also offer a <a target="_blank" href="http://www.adaptatech.co.uk">DVD replication</a> service which means that any exercise needs to be completed in the evenings.</p>
<p>In the end I decided to give jogging a go in any case; even though I was not entirely sure it would be beneficial to me. But what harm could it do? In reality it surely must do me some good.</p>
<p>My first jog was less than impressive. I had planned a fairly small route – well it was the first time. In the end I must have stopped about four times to catch my breath – it was either that or risk having a heart attack, yes it was that bad! When I returned home I was rather shocked at just how unfit I actually was.</p>
<p>I continued to jog each and every day. I must say that it is actually rather therapeutic and it is a really good way to clear your mind. It can however be rather boring and at times quite painful. I have been quite amazed at just how much my stamina has built up over the last few months and I am now able to run two miles without stopping, at a fairly quick speed as well.</p>
<p>I am pleased to report that I have managed to lose a lot of weight in a fairly short space of time. I am not going to rest on my laurels however as I really want this to be a change of lifestyle forever rather than just a fad.</p>]]></content:encoded>
