Smooth 5.65 Treadmill Review: Another New Treadmill from Smooth Fitness

With this Smooth 5.65 treadmill review, we’ll highlight the best features that this model, which replaces Smooth’s popular 5.45 treadmill has to offer.  Other than the bold red color added to what was previously just a basic black treadmill, what else is there that could make the Smooth 5.65 another popular and award winning fitness machine as its predecessor was?

What’s Changed and What Hasn’t

The Smooth 5.65 is still equipped with many of the primary features that the 5.45 also had. And that’s certainly a plus because this treadmill’s 20″ by 55″ walking surface, 2.5 HP motor, LCD display, and capability to reach a top speed of 10 mph and 15% incline should be enough to give any walker or jogger a good workout. But it doesn’t stop there.

Priced at just under 1,000 dollars, the Smooth 5.65 will definitely standout among other treadmills in the same category. You won’t find many other affordable treadmills with a deluxe sound system, 14 preset programs, and a two-speed cooling fan. The new model shed off some weight at 191 lbs compared to the 210-lb Smooth 5.45, but the maximum user weight it can support is still 275 pounds.

A Few Concerns with the 5.65

As I write this Smooth 5.65 treadmill review (December 2009), the treadmill has only been available in the market for a few weeks. Given that, few users have had a chance to try it out so it’s still difficult to establish that this new model will be as good as the previous one. It’s worth noting though, that the one feedback found on the Smooth website gives it 5-star rating and recommends it to others.

Another thing that fitness enthusiasts should also consider if they are interested in getting the Smooth 5.65 is that with the features that this treadmill  has, it is really most suitable for walkers and joggers. Those who are looking for a solid running experience will do best with higher-end models.

Great Warranty for the Price

Just like its predecessor, the Smooth 5.65 belongs to the sub-1,000 dollars category but for what the user will be getting, this treadmill is well on its way to becoming  one of Smooth’s best selling models. The Smooth 5.65 also continues to be backed by Smooth’s “Best in Industry” warranty that includes lifetime warranty on  the frame and motor, 3 years on all parts and electronics, and 1 year warranty on in-home service.

Closing Recommendations

While it may seem that the Smooth 5.45 had everything that you could ask for in a treadmill for that price, Smooth Fitness upped the ante and came up with the Smooth 5.65, a good-quality equipment that has a lot more features than the older model but at practically the same price. If you’re still having doubts as to whether this is the best treadmill that can really give you the basic fitness workout that you need, this Smooth 5.65 treadmill review says it’s definitely worth a try.
