Is The Perfect Body Worth Suicide?
There is one subject that never seems to get old, this subject is weight loss. The quest for the perfect body is something that a lot of people begin themselves on at an alarmingly premature age. In fact, it is not odd to go to a gym and witness children that are in their teens working out. Everyone is trying to accomplish obtaining the body type that society boasts that they have to have, and for many people they will work to obtain their desired stature at whatever costs they have to.
The amount of teenagers that can be located in a gym area has increased over the past ten years. It is fine for teenagers to want to stay healthy and look their best, however some teens seem to take muscle growth exercises above and beyond what they truly need to be.
For instance, there are teenagers that you can currently spot today working out with their own personal trainer that have a small percentage of body fat on their bodies. Even though, a healthy and rock hard body is something that most adults ail for, this particular body type may not be something that a teenager needs.
Inadvertently, on the other side of the spectrum there are more teenagers these days that are also considered to be obese. Thus, the persistent taunts from others and the constant teasing about being overweight can drive a teenager to think that they are nothing, which can actually lead to a lot of adverse problems as well.
The rise in teenage suicide has sparked the attention of many adults. Teenagers are very influential and if they believe that they are not accepted for who they are or what they are, they will lash out in whatever way possible. Reports about teenagers adorning a black helmet and trying to jump off of bridges or hang themselves are not the only detrimental reports being made about this age group.
The sad thing is obesity is something that can be fixed. However, for most teens they believe that the taunting will never end, so they opt to take their lives in order to end their sufferings. The quest for the perfect body is something that many of us will never be able to accomplish. However, this does not stop the monotonous commercials from being showcased through our television screens or the constant reminders that we are a little bit on the heavy side.
However, these commercials and these reports are not doing anything for the world, but killing off our youth, which will eventually end up leading to our own deaths as well.
