Can’t blame you, as when almost all magazines and even many bodybuilders say that you need those protein supplements to convert the fat into muscle.  Don’t believe it, it’s not true

The truth of the matter is that you can’t turn fat into muscle.  It won’t happen.  What you have to do, is to burn off the extra fat and bulk up on new muscle.  What the extra fat do, is to provide the energy you need to exercise.  But it is not possible to turn fat into muscle.

What about protein powders and supplements that you can buy off the shelves of the stores. The label on the cans tell you that they are sourced from milk or eggs. So what’s better, the protein in its natural form or in the canned ones. Let me tell you, it is a lot healthier when it is naturally available.

It is common knowledge that egg white is protein rich, helps weight loss and also helps you gain strength. Thus it is an essential part of the diet of a person building muscle. But make sure you throw away the yokes as they are bad news. It is too high on fat!

Many reputed bodybuilders, history tells us, used to eat egg whites many times during a day. They would keep it with them always to satisfy the need for high quality protein. Eggs are cheaper and easily available. Eating eggs rather than buying the canned protein powder is a better option, when you compare their prices.

Chicken especially the breast portion is another great source of protein.  This meat is low fat and protein packed.  You can serve it grilled with just a citrus marinade.  It is tasty and also goes to develop muscle.  The economical thing to do is to pick up chicken breasts at the store during those sales.  This is the way to stock up on this economical source of high protein.  This is much better than the canned and dried supplement that is available.

Fish should also be a necessary part of your muscle building diet. You may use any recipe to prepare it depending on your taste but let me tell you that fish grilled with some lime or lemon flavouring is very yummy. The quality of protein is also of a high standard.

Another high source of protein is milk, but experts advise you not to overdo the milk intake. This is despite, the fact that a lot of dry protein supplement are from milk.  The reason for this is because, milk contains lactose a kind of  sugar.  So when you are building muscle and need to burn up fat, the lactose in the milk will work against you.  So a glass of milk once a day will not be a problem.  Try to avoid milk as the primary source of protein.

It is easier to tuck into the cans of processed protein powders than trying to eat natural protein because it is more work to prepare the food. You must remember that high quality nutrition is as important as your exercises for building muscle. Therefore, spend some time in the kitchen, get your natural protein, work out in the gym and flaunt your body.
