A Short Distance Triathlon

As the word itself suggests, a triathlon includes three components that are generally swimming, biking and jogging . Some people might be afraid of even trying to participate in a triathlon, as they may think that it only involves fit athletes that have been working out their wholes lives. Nevertheless, what we ignore is that it is actually not that difficult to enter a triathlon. Although some of these events include enormous distances and great physical skills, it becomes a lot easier when we are talking about a Sprint Triathlon.

In fact, Sprint Triathlons are one of the shortest in distance, and you do not have to be an expert to finish it. Of course you have to train for several days, but anyone can eventually put up to the work. I am not saying that it is easy; I am just saying it can be done. In general, such events involve a swim of a half mile; a bicycle ride of 15 to 20 miles; and a run of approximately four miles.

Although it may sound like a lot, the sufficient training and compromised discipline should get you ready for the finish line . It requires effort and constant dedication, but it is a very achievable goal

A unique fact about these triathlons is that a great variety of people participate. Sure, you’ll bump into a huge, sweaty athlete down the road. But, truth be told, the people you find the most are not Professional athletes By this I do not intend to say that it is an easy task at all. Instead, what I am trying to suggest is that will power is enough to get you through the race.

Referring to Sprint Triathlons, you will generally get a series of reaction that, although varied, should stay on the same side of the specter. Indeed, most people will tell you that the reason they entered the triathlon is not only to stay fit and grow the habit of working out. They will also affirm that they raced the triathlon as a personal task; a way of getting over an obstacle that they have set to themselves.

Sprint Triathlons are not only about working your body. In fact, participating in any sport of this kind demands a great involvement of your mind. It’s not only about fortifying your legs or getting the marked abs you always wanted. It is also about “getting your head in the game” and compromising with yourself. Sure, you will need a lot of training to get through the 750 m. of swimming, 20 km of cycling and 5 km of running.

If you really want it, you should get rid of any fear, put your tennis shoes on and start training for it. Sprint Triathlons are especially designed in a way that assures that you will be able to finish it. So even if you come last, at least you will be able to say to yourself “I did it! I finished a triathlon”.
